Man nabbed for armed robbery of local elderly

A Filipino man was arrested by police on Monday on Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, just days before he was set to board a flight home. The incident occurred two days prior, when he allegedly followed an elderly local man from a casino to his residence in the Patane area. In the stairwell of the building, the suspect reportedly pushed the victim to the ground and stole a wallet containing approximately MOP23,000. The victim sustained bleeding injuries to his forehead and left eye as a result of the attack. The police have confirmed that the arrested man was employed as a foreign worker at the time of the incident. So far, police have recovered about MOP1,600 of the suspected stolen funds.
