Melco head chef joins UN-led global young chefs initiative

A Macau-based chef has been selected for a global culinary initiative jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Forum (WFF).

Safa Rodas, head chef of L’Attitude at Morpheus, City of Dreams, has been named one of 10 participants in the Young Chefs Programme, which brings together chefs aged 18 to 35 from around the world.

The year-long programme aims to encourage the use of culinary practices to support sustainable agrifood systems, with a focus on nutrition, food security, and biodiversity.

Participants will receive training and mentorship through international chef networks and take part in exchanges and advocacy activities linked to sustainable development. The programme also places emphasis on supporting young professionals and female chefs.

Chef Rodas is scheduled to begin the programme this month.

She is expected to take part in international training and knowledge-sharing activities, with the aim of applying the experience to her professional work and contributing to the development of the culinary sector, according to the gaming operator.
