Casino operator MGM recently held the “2024 MGM Employee Culinary Contest” at MGM Cotai allowing employees to showcase their cooking talents while highlighting Macau’s rich food culture.
Themed “Hometown Dishes,” the competition featured non-chef full-time team members competing in two categories: “Chinese Hometown Dish” and “Non-Chinese Hometown Dish.” Over 100 participants from various regions entered, with 16 making it to the finals.
Jason Wang won the “Chinese Hometown Dish” category for his “Bo Bo Chicken,” while Yowared Chuklang took home the “Non-Chinese Hometown Dish” title with her “Squid with Green Curry Sauce and Rice Noodles,” also earning the “Best Presentation Award.”
Kenneth Feng, president and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited, emphasized the event’s role in fostering a sense of belonging and cultural exchange among employees, reinforcing the city’s status as a “Creative City of Gastronomy.”
