Barra District has transformed into a vibrant and family-friendly walkable lifestyle destination this summer as MGM presents the “Summer Hype” Series Event. Collaborating with local entrepreneurs and creative partners, MGM has launched a wide array of trendy, artistic, leisure and retail activities starting from July.
The series begins with “BERTILO Drifts in Barra” giant inflatable floating installation in Lago da Barra. For the first time, renowned IP BERTILO, the pink chubby character, is showcased in Macau through the collaboration of Italian artist Bertil Butturini and Chinese artist Jingo Li. Prepare to immerse yourself in a pink frenzy as you explore the adorable photo spots and savor the limited edition snacks, including Pink Chubby Burger Sticks, Pink Chubby Summer Ice Cream, Canal cover-shaped Pink Grills, and Chubby Custard Bun and Drinks available at the food trucks. Adding to the excitement, don’t miss the exclusive Macau merchandise infused with the cool and chill vibes of BERTILO.
More “Summer Hype” adventures await you and your family to explore in Barra. The interactive art installation exhibition, “Fantastic Art World from Centre Pompidou: The Plantamouves” created by artistic duo Clédat & Petitpierre, has launched at the former Barra slaughterhouse site and become a must-go indoor attraction for families in Macau this summer. With choreographic tutorials, children aged 3 or above are invited to unleash their creativity and co-craft the multicolored, proliferating artwork with dance moves and wearable extensions of the body, bringing parents and children closer together through sensory art exploration.
Last but not least, for the first time in Macau, Barra will feature a pet-friendly space and the first illustration exhibition of renowned Japanese artist Matsui, “Matsui the dog”, which is launching in August along with themed dining experience, fashion collaboration and retail elements. Get ready for a fun-filled day out with your furkids.
