Huang Liuquan, deputy director at Beijing’s liaison office in Macau, recently led a delegation on a ceremonial visit to the local courts amid his assumption of office.

The delegation also consisted of Li Xuefei, director, and Wang Heng, deputy director, of the legal department of the office, as well as Gao Zhen, division head at the department.

The ceremonial visit and subsequent meeting occurred at the Court of Final Appeal (TUI) building, which is also the office of the head of the court, Justice Sam Hou Fai.

The liaison office delegation was met by Justice Sam, Justice Song Man Lei of the TUI, Justice Tong Hio Fong, head of the Court of Second Instance (TSI), Justice Io Weng San, head of the Court of First Instance (TJB), and Chan Iok Lin, chief of office of the TUI president.

The judges described the city’s judicial reform activities, its judicial administrative system, the appointment and management of judges, and the operation of the court’s three tiers.

After complimenting the diligence of the three courts and their compliance with One Country Two Systems, Huang said he had garnered a clearer knowledge on the local courts. AL
