A new public parking facility has entered operation at Coloane Village.

The facility, which the government said was temporary, has taken a significant portion of the former land plot of the Flying Eagle Training Center as part of the government’s bid to put idled land plots to use.

According to the Land and Public Works Bureau (DSOP), the facility aims to alleviate the parking shortage in the vicinity of Coloane Village, adding more than 70 parking spaces for cars and motorcycles.

The plot covers approximately 5,300 square meters, of which the parking area occupies mainly the open areas at the south and north ends, totaling around 3,000 square meters.

Construction was completed at the end of 2025, and after the contractor delivered the project and it passed the final inspection, the facility opened to the public.

Named the Public Parking Lot of Rua da Cordoaria, the facility has entry and exit on this street and has also prompted several changes in local traffic organization. Among these, the bus stop previously located at the end of the wall of “Flying Eagles” has been relocated to Estrada de Cheoc Van, under the name Vila de Coloane/Rua da Cordoaria, continuing to serve routes 15, 21A, and 26A.

The construction was carried out by Cheong Kong Construction Company Limited over 100 working days at a cost of MOP6.72 million. In total, including design, planning, inspection, and supervision, the facility cost over MOP7.2 million.
