No reply to Coloane tower inquiry

On the sidelines of an event yesterday where ANM representatives presented a petition to the CCAC, the president of the association, Scott Chiang, told reporters that the association has not received a response to a separate petition calling for clarification over the proposed tower to be built on Coloane Hill.

The petition was delivered over a month ago and was submitted in response to suspicious evidence that government departments may have sought to expedite the bureaucratic procedures for the construction company, despite the plans not having been approved.
A further protest related to the project will be held tomorrow, with the ANM president saying, “Of course we will join [the protest].”
“The theme of the march will be ‘Justice for Land’ and [will advocate] the preservation of Coloane,” he added. “It is of very great importance. So that’s why the New Macau Association will not miss it for the world.”
