Wynn and the Macau Bats Rugby Club joined forces to conduct a Rugby Open Day last week which allowed Macau youngsters, aged between 6 and 12, to experience touch rugby for the first time. The Open Day was held at The International School’s playing field, close to Wynn Palace, and more than 60 children enrolled to get a feel for the game.
“Rugby is a great sport for girls and boys to play, it’s relatively easy to play, encourages teamwork and self-discipline, respect for others and is fun!” according to Miguel Oliveira, Head of the Macau Bats. “This Open Day builds on a number of initiatives we have undertaken with local schools to increase participation in the sport. We are also very appreciative of the role that Wynn is playing in supporting the game locally.”
Following on from the success of the Greater Bay Area tournament the day before, Frederic Luvisutto, Chief Operating Officer of Wynn Macau, Limited commented “We are delighted to see Macau developing these sporting ties and competitions locally and across the GBA.. We will continue to support and grow these events in the future.” Donald Shaw, MDT
