Performance tour reminds youth of dangers of smoking

Smoke-free and Healthy Life Association of Macau is organizing a performance tour, with the theme ‘smoke-free in local schools.’ Supported by the Health Bureau and by the Social Welfare Bureau, the first tour took place at the Yuet Wah College. The group plans to organize 15 performances in total until November in order to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking.  According to data released by the Health Bureau from 2015, 6.1 percent of survey participants, who were all people aged between 13 and 15 years old, smoke. The number in 2011 was 9.5 percent. Half of those who said they smoke admitted to having smoked for the first time before they were 10 years old.

Universitary basketball team competes in Mongolia

Macau universitary men’s basketball team is competing in the sixth Asian Men’s Basketball University Championship in Mongolia. Team Macau is competing along with six other teams from the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Republic of China, Korea, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The city’s representatives were selected by the Associação do Desporto Universitário de Macau, and the participation is supported by the Sports Bureau.  The tournament will end tomorrow.

Business Aviation Exhibition accredited

The Macau Business Aviation Exhibition (MBAE) has been accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), becoming the fifth exhibition held in Macau to be accredited by UFI.  This is the third exhibition organized by Nam Kwong (Group) Company and by the Macau Convention and Exhibition Association that has been accredited by UFI. The other two are the China (Macau) International Automobile Exposition and the China (Macau) International Yacht Import and Export Fair. In 2012, MBAE organized its first exhibition. From November 4-6 of this year, MBAE will welcome its sixth edition. Together, MBAE’s organizers will also host the sixth edition of their automobile and yacht shows according to a report by Jornal Cheng Pou.
