Police detect 79 suspected illegal workers

The Public Security Police Force (PSP) detected a total of 79 people suspected of working illegally in Macau last month, according to statistics just released.
This represents a significant increase from the previous month when the PSP detected a total of only 19 people suspected of the same offense.
According to the PSP, the 79 suspects were detected as a result of both joint and independent operations against illegal workers launched by the PSP, the Labour Affairs Bureau, and other authorities at construction sites, private flats and commercial and industrial establishments, among others.
The same press release also reveals that authorities significantly increased the number of inspections in March this year, conducting them in a total of 530 locations. This figure represents an increase of 42% from the previous month, when authorities only inspected 373 locations. RM
