Portuguese speaker praises Macau’s ‘One Country, Two Systems’ success

Portuguese Parliament Speaker Jose Pedro Aguiar-Branco praised Macau’s successful implementation of “One Country, Two Systems” during a meeting in Beijing with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, Xinhua reported yesterday. Aguiar-Branco expressed hope of expanding cooperation, using Macau as a platform in clean energy, the digital economy, AI, and healthcare. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress of China, Zhao Leji, noted that Portugal has consistently adhered to the One-China principle and that both sides properly resolved the Macau issue through friendly consultations, demonstrating political wisdom and mutual trust.
