‘Precious Moments’ photo contest open from May 17

Participants in the ‘Precious Moments in Macao’ photography competition may submit their works online from May 17, according to an announcement made by the Government Information Bureau (GCS). This year’s competition has a special award entitled “Our Waters.”
According to GCS, the aim of the competition is to chronicle the city’s developments and events of the over the past year, and to select suitable photos for the Macau Yearbook. “Submitted photos should depict changes in the cityscape and the bright side of people’s lives over the past year to underscore Macau’s best qualities,” the organizers announced.
Winners of the first, second and third prizes will receive cash prizes of MOP8,000, MOP5,000 and MOP3,000 respectively, in addition to a trophy.
A total of up to 50 Merit Prizes will also be awarded and their winners will each receive a certificate as well as a cash prize of MOP500.
Winning works and outstanding entries will be featured in publications and government promotional materials, and suitable entries will be used as illustrations in the 2016 Macau Yearbook.
Anyone wishing to enter can visit the website photo.gcs.gov.mo to register and upload their photographs from May 17 to June 7.
The judging of the entries will take place on June 26. Results will be announced in July.
