Property price index remains stable

The overall residential property price index for the three-month period of July to September 2018 rose 0.2 percent compared to the previous period between June and August to reach 270.4, according to the Statistics and Census Service. The index for the Macau Peninsula (272.9) rose by 0.3 percent, while that for Taipa and Coloane (259.0) dropped by 0.1 percent. Analyzed by the type of property, the index for existing residential units (292.0) grew by 0.3 percent from the previous period, while the indexes for units completed between six and 10 years ago and between 11 and 20 years ago increased by 1.1 percent and 0.8 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the index for pre-sale residential units (275.8) dropped by 2 percent. Analyzed by quarter year, the overall residential property price index in the third quarter of 2018 (270.4) grew by 0.4 percent from the second quarter (269.4).
