Briefs | IFT, IPM increase tuition fees

 

Local students are now required to pay MOP30,000 in annual fees at the Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT), MOP6,000 more than the fees currently. Students from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan are required to pay MOP50,000, while students from other countries are required to pay MOP63,000 – the latter having increased by MOP9,100. At the Macao Polytechnic Institute (IPM), local students; students from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan; and international students will now pay MOP120,000, MOP192,000 and MOP252,000 for a bachelor’s degree programme respectively.

Advised regulation on stamp duty tax to take effect on March 31

The advised regulation on stamp duty tax will come into force on March 31. In the new regulation, the government has scrapped 21 stamp duty items in a bid to simplify the settlement of tax and its collection procedures. The adjustments are intended to align with the growing trend of electronic payments and to support the city’s economic development. An explanatory seminar on the new regulation will be held on March 20.

Nomination forms for AL election available

The nomination form for the Legislative Assembly (AL) poll is now available in the public administration building at Rua do Campo. Interested parties who wish to organize a nomination committee and run for the upcoming AL election can take the form from the aforementioned location or online. Nomination forms are required to be submitted by June 15, and the AL election will be on September 12.

Health Bureau launches self-AIDS testing pilot scheme

The Health Bureau has launched a self-AIDS testing pilot scheme. Interested individuals aged 18 years or above can register and purchase a testing kit online, which can be collected in a smart locker later. The individual can conduct the AIDS testing on his or her own, and no longer needs to show up at clinics for testing.
