Rainy weekend ahead and a warm Mother’s Day

Macau’s weather will improve just in time for Mother’s Day this Sunday, May 10. The Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) predicts heavy rain and thunderstorms today and tomorrow due to a low-pressure trough. However, Sunday will shift to easterly airflow, bringing clearer skies and warm, comfortable conditions. Early next week will see even more sunshine, with daytime highs reaching 29 to 30 degrees Celsius due to an upper-level anticyclone. Meanwhile, tropical cyclone Hagupit, named after the storm near Guam, is expected to move toward waters east of the Philippines early next week. Authorities will continue monitoring its path.
