Second CNY parade held yesterday

Following a parade to celebrate Chinese New Year on February 7, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) organized a second float parade in the northern district yesterday night. A total of 18 floats marched alongside 32 performance groups composed of 800 performers, conveying messages of good luck to residents and visitors for a fruitful and wonderful year ahead, including “five blessings descend upon the home,” “the phoenix appears,” “gold and silver fill the home,” “wishing you prosperity” and “fruitful harvest”. The floats will be on display at the Tap Seac Square until February 17.

Department holds training on smart city, big data

The Cartography and Cadastre Bureau held a two-day training course focused on the latest developments in smart city research and big data. The bureau invited professors from the Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics at Hong Kong Polytechnic University to hold the training course. According to a statement, the lecturers explained theory along with practical cases to introduce the integration and frontier development directions in Geographic Information System and Building Information Modeling technology, among other issues. Held for the fourth time, this year’s training course attracted some 160 participants from multiple government departments.
