Shake Shack opens with localised menu

World-famous modern-day burger chain Shake Shack opened its first restaurant in Macau over the weekend.
Located at the newly opened The Londoner Macao, the restaurant aims to bring to Macau a diverse menu which includes the worldwide classics that made the brand famous, as well as some brand-new and exclusive Macau-themed items.
The “Ginger Crush,” made from blending vanilla frozen custard with ginger juice, pineapple and mango purée, is one of the new items from Shake Shack that capture the flavors of Macau. The menu is completed with the “Olá, Serradura” and the “Queen of Tart,” a vanilla frozen custard dessert blended with a Portuguese egg tart and strawberry purée.
Known for its all-natural Angus beef burgers, hormone-free chicken sandwiches, and flat-top beef dogs, among others, Shake Shack aims to foster deep community investment through premium ingredients, caring hiring practices, and inspiring designs.
The design of the restaurant was inspired by the lotus flower, a symbol of Macau, replete with Portuguese-style tiles that create a unique and homely environment for both locals and visitors.
The design of the tiles was done by local illustrator Kun Lam and named “Shake Shack Azulejos” to mark Macau’s heritage. It also includes several details inspired by Macau street names,.
As Macau is known for gaming, Shake Shack also presents a Macau-exclusive series of table games ranging from Mahjong, playing cards, set of dice to tic-tac-toe – all in Shake Shack style.
With the soft opening of Shake Shack, Macau joins the long list of cities and regions where the brand is already featured. Shake Shack can be found in over 300 locations, which include the USA, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Philippines, Dubai, Mexico, Istanbul, Tokyo, and Seoul, among others.
