Six mainlanders injured in Taipa restaurant brawl

A brawl broke out at a restaurant on Avenida Dr. Sun Yat Sen in Taipa at around 4:28 a.m. yesterday, leaving six people injured. The Public Security Police (PSP) said two groups of diners, one consisting of three men and the other of two men and one woman – all mainland Chinese nationals aged 27 to 43 – became involved in a verbal dispute after consuming alcohol, which escalated into a physical fight. Restaurant staff alerted the police upon witnessing the scene. One person reported having damaged eyeglasses, while four others sustained injuries and were taken to hospital by ambulance. The case is being investigated for suspected assault and criminal damage.
