Public warned against feeding stray animals in public places

The Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has urged the public not to feed stray animals in public places following complaints from residents about feeding activities near the Largo do Lilau area, with concerns raised over the impact on environmental hygiene. The bureau said it understood the public’s care and concern for stray animals but stressed that food scraps and water containers left behind could seriously compromise cleanliness and increase the risk of cross-infection from infectious diseases.
