Woman sent to hospital with burns from kitchen range hood fire

A fire recently broke out in a range hood in the kitchen of an apartment unit. Firefighters said that the residents used water to extinguish the fire before the team arrived. A 45-year-old mainland woman was injured during the firefighting and suffered second-degree burns on her right forearm. She was sent to the hospital in stable condition. The resident’s granddaughter was short of breath, but said she felt no discomfort after the ambulance arrived. It was suspected that the incident was caused by a fire while cooking. The range hood was slightly burned and some parts had melted from the heat.
