Transport and communications sector posts growth in 2024

The Transport, Storage & Communications Sector recorded receipts of MOP28.65 billion and expenditure of MOP23.59 billion in 2024, up 7.5% and 8.3% year-on-year, with a gross surplus of MOP5.34 billion, according to DSEC. Growth was led by Transport and Storage, where passenger and cargo services rose 17.2% and 7.9%, generating a MOP2.73 billion surplus. Communications saw slight declines, with receipts at MOP6.99 billion and surplus of MOP2.61 billion, mainly from telecommunications.
