Visa champions financial literacy program for local students in GBA
Macau students participated in the 11th Hong Kong Financial Literacy Championship, a student competition held across the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Organised by the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, with support from Visa, the program aims to provide students with financial knowledge and practical skills.
This year’s competition focused on using fintech solutions to promote sustainable economic growth, particularly through sports tourism linked to the upcoming 15th National Games.
Students from Macau and other GBA cities took part in the Young Financial Talent Runway, which included a business case competition and mentorship from professionals in finance, aviation, travel, and sports sectors.
Paulina Leong, general manager of Visa Hong Kong and Macau, noted the inclusion of financial education in the junior secondary curriculum and emphasized the program’s role in preparing students for changes in the digital economy and regional development priorities.
