The Macau Union of Employers’ Interests (OMKC) has decided to recommend Wong Chi Meng, a member of the Standing Committee of Directors of Macao Chamber of Commerce (ACM), to run in the by- election of the Legislative Assembly (AL).

The AL by-election, which will fill the vacancy left by Chief Executive-elect Ho Iat Seng (more on p4), has been set for November 24.

Last week, ACM president Ma Iao Lai said that, as approved by voters of the industrial, commercial and financial sectors, the ACM formed the OMKC and recommended Wong.

Once Wong’s nomination is confirmed by the electoral affairs commission, Wong’s documents and political platform will be submitted.
