Visitors staying at participating hotels in the ZAPE area will be eligible to receive MOP100 in electronic consumption vouchers during a nine-day campaign aimed at encouraging spending at local businesses.
The ZAPE Consumption Festival will run from Sept. 11 to 19, bringing together 20 hotels and about 300 businesses in the district, including restaurants, retailers and leisure service providers.
Organized by the Federal General Commercial Association of Macau Small and Medium Enterprises and supported by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the event is designed to connect hotel stays with local consumption and boost economic activity in the area.
During the festival, guests staying for the first time at participating hotels in ZAPE will be able to receive two electronic vouchers worth MOP50 each through designated platforms. The vouchers can be used at participating businesses, with a total of MOP2.1 million in vouchers to be distributed.
Association chairman Andy Wu said the campaign marks the first large-scale cross-sector promotional event in the ZAPE business district. He estimated that it could generate more than MOP5 million in consumer spending.
Wu said organizers will assess the results of the trial campaign before deciding whether to extend the event or adjust the value of the vouchers.
He added that the initiative aims to integrate the district’s tourism and commercial resources, strengthen links between hotel accommodation and local businesses, and help small and medium-sized enterprises attract more customers and increase revenue.
According to organizers, the festival is expected to encourage visitors and residents to explore businesses in the ZAPE area while supporting the district’s economic recovery and development. LV
