New HIV GuidelinesThe region’s anti-AIDS committee has forecasted a fall in the number of infection cases this year, given that as of September, the total number of cases for the year is 25 compared to the total of 48 cases identified last year. According to the given figures, 14 locals contracted the viruses through same-sex intercourse while another 11 patients are imported laborers from entertainment venues.

Pearl Horizon buyers’ interest safeguarded in overdue

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau claimed that the authorities’ future response to the troubled Pearl Horizon developer, which failed to finish construction works before the anticipated deadline, would be in the interests of its pre-sale proprietors. Some of the buyers made the purchase on the mortgage, petitioning the government several times to intervene in the dispute. According to the authorities, there are three additional plots of land, all in Taipa, which face a similar plight where construction works are believed to be lagging behind the deadline. The authorities are entitled to recover the land parcels if the grantees are found to be failing to fulfill their development obligations.
