Salaries have reached at least MOP70 per hour, higher than the average in the first half of the year, between MOP50 and MOP60.
An unnamed human resources agency has noted there are many major events in the last quarter of the year. However, preparations need to start early, requiring many event organizers to start hiring part time workers around the middle of the year, as reported by Chinese media.
The human resources agency said new business arrivals and adjusting down-stream operations in the gaming industry are expected to need part time workers to fill vacancies before the picture becomes clearer.
Recruiting part time workers is a much easier process compared with full time workers.
In terms of attractiveness, it was noted that the easy recruitment procedure is also enticing to jobseekers. Some positions requiring higher qualifications may offer salaries up to MOP100 per hour, which can attract many young people.
The economy’s recovery rate will dictate the workforce’s expansion rate, the human resources agency said. It did not rule out the possibility that brands will open stores for the coming festivals, which will create the need for a bigger workforce. AL
