581 SMEs approved for MOP130m in loan interest subsidies

The Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Bank Loan Interest Subsidy Program for the current fiscal year was launched on April 22. As of July 16, the Economic and Technology Development Bureau (DSEDT) reported receiving 581 applications, with 433 having been approved. The approved loans total approximately MOP1.1 billion, with subsidies amounting to around MOP130 million. According to the bureau, eligible SMEs can apply for loan interest subsidies through banks until April 22 next year. Each commercial enterprise is eligible for a maximum loan of MOP5 million, with a subsidy period of up to three years and an annual interest rate cap of 4%.
