87 old phones seized in smuggling attempts at Qingmao checkpoint
Customs officers at Qingmao Port seized a total of 87 old mobile phones in two smuggling cases last week. Two individuals were caught trying to enter mainland China through the “green channel,” with old phones strapped to their bodies using plastic wrap and elastic bands. Both had prior smuggling offenses within the past two years. Gongbei Customs confirmed they imposed heavier penalties in accordance with the law.
