ARTS | Literary Festival back from March 19 to 29

The Script Road – Macau Literary Festival is back for its 4th edition, scheduled to take place from March 19 to 29, 2015 at the Old Court Building.
Around 30 writers, publishers, filmmakers, visual artists and musicians will take part in the event.
According to the organizers, Chinese writer Wang Anyi and Angolan author Ondjaki are “among the star guests this year.” Filmmakers Ann Hui and João Botelho will attend; two of the latter’s films will be screened, including “Os Maias,” Botelho’s adaptation of one of the most relevant novels in Portuguese Literature and a major box office success in Portugal. Authors Wong Bik-wan and Francisco José Viegas are also to be part of this year’s program, of which children literature is one of the highlights. Local writers will also take to the stage and visit schools and universities.
The festival also extends to the field of music, with rapper Gabriel o Pensador from Brazil headlining a concert to be held on March 21.
Maestro António Victorino d’Almeida, known for his TV shows about music, will be giving two concerts that are included in the event’s program.
The 3rd volume of the collection The Script Road – Short Stories and Other Writings will be launched during this year’s edition.
The event was founded in 2012 by the newspaper Ponto Final. According to its organizers, it is strongly supported by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau and Macau Foundation, as well as several private entities.
