More than 200 million border crossings were recorded in Macau between January and November 9, according to data released by the Public Security Police Force. The milestone was reached 29 days earlier than last year.
Authorities reported an average of 640,000 daily crossings during the period, marking a 9.8% year-on-year rise. The surge has been attributed to new border facilitation measures that have streamlined customs and immigration procedures, contributing to smoother and faster passenger flow.
Among the notable records this year, the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge checkpoint saw 142,000 crossings on February 1, the highest single-day figure for that port. Another record was set on May 2, when Macau recorded a total of 837,000 border movements in a single day, including 128,000 through the Hengqin checkpoint.
As of early November, Macau has welcomed over 34 million visitors. Of these, 24.8 million came from mainland China, 6.2 million from Hong Kong, and around 845,000 from Taiwan.
