Briefs | New batch of HKZMB user vehicles open for registration

 

Individuals who own real properties, except parking spaces, work for a salary or own companies in Hong Kong can now apply to use the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge to travel to Hong Kong with their own vehicles. The quota for the permit is 2,000 in total. The new permit will be valid for three years. Applications should be made by 6 p.m. on January 12.

Transport Bureau: Taipa bus crash not related to technical malfunction

Lam Hin San, director of the Transport Bureau, announced that the preliminary cause for the bus crash that took place on November 7, in which a bus crashed into a restaurant in Taipa, was maloperation by the bus driver. The bureau has ordered the bus company to give their drivers more rest time. This means that the cause of the accident was not related to a technical malfunction. The official hinted that the fine, yet to be issued to the bus company, will be enormous.

DSAMA to study marine zoning and planning

The Marine and Water Bureau (DSAMA) will conduct research on marine functional zoning and waters planning next year. The groundwork studies will be aligned with the 2020-2040 Macau Urban Master Plan. Director of DSAMA Susanna Wong Soi Man said that the studies will take into account ocean conservation and pledged not to approve plans that undermine ecological reserves like mangrove reserves and green belts.
