Briefs | New Hengqin hotline handles consumer issues for Macau residents

 

The Consumer Association of the Hengqin New District of Zhuhai City has launched a new hotline to provide free-of-charge legal advice for Macau residents who have consumer rights issues in relation to purchases in mainland China. The hotline was opened in consideration of the differences in laws and regulations between Macau SAR and mainland China. Macau residents can also follow the association’s WeChat public platform for legal advice on consumer rights issues.

Gov’t expects public autonomous fund database to be ready in June

The Public Assets Supervision Planning Office has disclosed that the availability of public autonomous funds subsidy has room for improvement. As such, it is now in the process of establishing a database for such funds. The public can view basic information and data on subsidy issuance of funds on the platform. A consultation with autonomous funds is in progress for the purpose of inaugurating the database. The platform is expected to be publicized in June.

SSM calls for a recall of antidepressant batch

According to a notification from a local drug importer, an antidepressant drug produced by Canadian Apotex Inc with a batch number of RF0410 was recalled. The recall affects 10mg Apo-Amitriptyline tablets. The manufacturer found that its drug ingredients contained impurities that exceeded the allowable threshold. According to the information provided by the importer, the affected batches of drugs have been supplied to two private clinics in Macau.
