The Broadway and West End musical, “The Sound of Music,” is coming to The Venetian Macau in mid December 2017 and the producers are looking for eighteen young performers to cast as the Von Trapp children.  Preliminary auditions will be held today and Sunday in Hong Kong and in Macau on September 18, according to a statement issued by Sands China. Applications will be accepted online and shortlisted applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to audition. The producers are looking for children who have a natural talent for singing, dancing, and acting or previous experience performing on stage. Applicants must be aged between 6 and 14 years old, and be between 120 cm and 153 cm tall to play the two boys and four girls being cast. All nationalities are welcome to audition.

Cultural Center reopens

Three facilities run by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) – the Cultural Center, the Macau Art Museum and the Handover Gifts Museum – will reopen today. The facilities were damaged by the passage of Typhoon Hato when the structure crowning the Cultural Center was bent out of shape.
