Corporate Bits | MGM sponsors filming of ‘finding mr. right’ sequel

01-bMGM Macau is exclusively sponsoring the filming of the “Finding Mr. Right” sequel in Macau, as one of the many initiatives to support cultural development and exchanges. The romantic comedy is written and directed by Chinese movie director Xue Xiaolu, with Chinese actors Tang Wei as the female lead and Wu Xiubo as the male lead.
In addition to sponsoring the filming of the “Finding Mr. Right” sequel, MGM will be hosting a sharing session with Director Xue, with the objective of creating an opportunity for local filmmaking amateurs and enthusiasts to gain insights and tips from the award-wining movie director.
Grant Bowie, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said, “We are thrilled to have Director Xue Xiaolu featuring Macau and MGM in her upcoming movie. We believe that the success of this movie will help to showcase the diverse leisure offerings of our city. While the movie and cultural creative industries continue to grow, we hope that hosting a sharing session with Director Xue will give our local talents inspirations and encouragement, which in turn will help to further develop the industries.”

image00444th founder’s day celebration at hard rock hotel

Hard Rock Hotel at City of Dreams recently celebrated the 44th Hard Rock Founder’s Day on June 14. The Hard Rock lobby turned into a huge party featuring dance shows with retro music and 70s grooves, the decade when Hard Rock was founded. Guests put on accessories and posed in the photo booth, celebrating Hard Rock’s birthday.
On June 6 Hard Rock Hotel also organized a voluntary elderly visit. Around 20 staff visited Our Lady of Mercy Home for the Elderly and prepared games, dancing and singing performances for the elders to show their care and concern through the occasion of the brand’s anniversary celebrations.

AGMsands china holds 2015 annual general meeting

Sands China Ltd. held its 2015 Annual General Meeting yesterday at The Venetian Macao, passing all proposed resolutions, including the declaration of a final dividend of HKD1 per share.
In addition, shareholders received the audited consolidated financial statements of the company and the reports of the directors and auditors for the year ended December 31, 2014. During the meeting, shareholders re-elected Sheldon Adelson to the Board of Directors as executive director, Michael Leven as non-executive director, and David Turnbull and Victor Hoog Antink as independent non-executive directors. Professional services firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu were re-appointed as auditors.
Sands China Ltd. has filed a public announcement confirming the poll results of the Annual General Meeting on the websites of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and the company at www.hkexnews.hk and www.sandschinaltd.com respectively.
