Photo- Chef Thomas Buehner_1On 23 and 24 May, Vida Rica Restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Macau presents guest chef Thomas Bühner from the three-star Michelin restaurant La Vie in Osnabrück, Germany, which also boasts 19 out of 20 points in the prestigious Gault & Millau gourmet guide. One of only ten German chefs awarded with three stars, Chef Bühner will showcase his cuisine, made using progressive cooking techniques and presented with an artistic style.
Chef Bühner is famous for his “three-dimensional aromatic cuisine”, an emphasis on the individual product’s natural flavors, a special penchant for low-temperature cooking and a harmonious balance of flavors and textures in his set menus. Diners can explore his unique approach to haute cuisine with a six-course degustation dinner menu, featuring dishes such as foie gras panna cotta with cocoa jelly and lemon granite; turbot fish confit in olive oil with broccoli couscous, chick pea, mud crab, North Sea grey shrimp and Joselito Iberico ham; and more. His avant-garde style is also highlighted in his four-course lunch menu. Both menus offer a choice of wine pairing.

Sands China hosts dealer skills championship 2015

Competition photo-1Sands China Ltd. hosted the second edition of its property-wide Dealer Skills Championship at The Venetian Macao Friday. Nine finalists showcased their baccarat, blackjack and roulette skills in front of a cheering crowd of fellow team members at the integrated resort’s back-of-house area.
Man Weng Ip, Wang Zhen Han and Un Wai Kin were crowned the winners in the baccarat, blackjack and roulette categories, respectively. Each won a grand prize trophy and a trip for two to Singapore that includes a four-night stay at The Venetian Macao’s sister property Marina Bay Sands, plus SGD 1,000. The first and second runners-up in each category took home a trophy, plus MOP 6,000 and MOP 4,000, respectively.
The Dealer Skills Championship aims to encourage dealers in the company to seek out opportunities to enhance their dealing and service skills.
“We’re proud to recognize and honor the hard work and dedication of our team members to enhance their customer service skills and improve the guest experience at all of our properties,” said Cetin Tanisman, senior vice president of casino operations for Sands China Ltd. “This event serves to motivate and build our team members while providing a platform where they can demonstrate their skills.”
