Covid-19 | City’s 54th case is a returnee from the UK

Macau has registered a new Covid-19 patient, a returnee student from the U.K., raising the overall number of cases to 54.
The returnee student, a local female resident, arrived in Macau on Saturday at the Macau International Airport. She was found to be mild positive via a viral polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test at the local airport.
Current pandemic control measures require all entrants from non-Greater China Region be found negative within 72 hours prior to scheduled time of departure of first flight.
The patient tested negative in the U.K. on June 23 prior to her flight.
She boarded her initial flight in the U.K. on June 25. She arrived in Singapore the next day and transferred to the Scoot flight 904 to Macau. She was assigned to seat number 26A.
Upon arrival in Macau, as well as being tested for viral nucleic acid, she was also tested for viral antibodies. She had mild positive results for IgM and a negative result for IgG antibodies.
She denied ever having been diagnosed with Covid-19 to the health authorities. She also denied being in contact with a Covid-19 patient.
As of press time, the patient was asymptomatic and is being treated at the Public Health Clinical Centre in Coloane. AL
