The Composite Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.54% year-on-year and 0.02% month-on-month in January 2026, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Price increases were mainly driven by Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Housing and Fuels, reflecting higher dining-out costs and rental prices. Recreation, sport and culture and transport recorded declines. For the 12 months ending January 2026, the average Composite CPI grew 0.33% year-on-year. DSEC said housing, food and transport represented the largest household expenditure weights across the CPI series.
