The consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.64% year-on-year in June 2024, marking the fourth consecutive month of slower growth, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Increases were noted in education (+5.06%), miscellaneous goods and services (+2.53%), and health (+2.41%). Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.99%) and housing and fuels (+0.59%) also rose, while transport (-3.60%) and recreation and culture (-0.65%) decreased. Compared to May, the composite CPI edged down 0.01% in June. For the 12 months ending June 2024, the average composite CPI grew 1.02%, with notable rises in education (+5.81%) and declines in transport (-3.19%).
