Composite Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.23% year-on-year in April 2025 and 0.16% month-on-month, signaling a slight inflation uptick. The 12-month average CPI increased 0.42%, according to the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Yearly gains were driven by recreation, sport and culture (+2.47%), and personal care and luxury goods (+1.82%). Food rose 0.48%, while housing edged up 0.21%. Declines were seen in information and communication (-3.01%), clothing (-2.35%), and transport (-1.67%). April’s rebound reflected rising hotel rates and airfares.
