Macau, as part of a tour that also visits Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, will see the production played at the Venetian Theatre from June 19 to July 26 this year.
Directed by Rob Roth and choreographed by Matt West, the international tour of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will see the show’s original Broadway creative team reuniting to bring this classic show to life.
Liz Koops, CEO of Broadway Entertainment Group, said that they were excited to see the Macau audience “fall in love with this beloved tale.”
Scott Messinger, Sands China’s senior vice-president of marketing, said that they were “thrilled to bring this fantastic Broadway show to Macau.” “We are delivering on our commitment in this instance by bringing the best of Broadway shows to Macau for our guests to enjoy,” he stated.
Tickets for the performances go on sale in March 2015. Based on the 1991 Academy-Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast premiered on Broadway in 1994, where it was nominated for nine prestigious Tony Awards and ran for 13 years. It still ranks as one of the longest-running and highest-grossing Broadway shows of all time. Since its debut, the title’s visibility and success have expanded globally with subsequent productions produced around the world.
