Electoral committee confirms sole candidate Sam Hou Fai
Sam Hou Fai will be the sole candidate in the upcoming Chief Executive Election, having secured 386 endorsements from the 400-member Chief Executive Election Committee. In a statement, the Electoral Affairs Commission confirmed his candidacy for the election scheduled Oct. 13. According to the relevant provisions of the Chief Executive Election Law, nominated candidates and members of the Chief Executive Election Committee may lodge appeals within one day of the Electoral Affairs Commission announcing its decision on the eligibility of nominated individuals. If no objections are received within the relevant period, the Electoral Affairs Commission will issue, today, a notice announcing the final list of the accepted candidates for the election.
