Forum Macau delegation toured Beijing, presented 2018 plans

delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macau), toured Beijing recently. During their stay in the Chinese capital, the delegation met with ambassadors representing countries including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and East-Timor.

The delegation visited the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Department of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of China, the MOFCOM External Trade Development Administration, and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Food products.
During the visit, representatives of Forum Macau presented the work carried out in 2017 as well as the Activity Program designed for 2018. The 2018 program will focus on the activities to be carried out during the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Macau Forum.

During the visits, Xu Yingzhen, Secretary-General of the Macau Forum, mentioned that it has and will actively promote the implementation of the “Economic and Trade Cooperation Action Plan” (2017-2019) and the “Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Co-operation in Productive Capacity”. These tools as well as the “18 new measures” announced by the Chinese counterparties detail works initiated in several areas, including: productive capacity cooperation, trade and investment promotion, human resources, and cultural exchange. These announcements were made during the 5th Ministerial Conference and their implementation will be a major subject for Macau Forum this year.  RM
