Galaxy and Alibaba’s Damai team up for three more years to elevate Macau events

Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) has extended its strategic partnership for another three years with DAMAI ENT (01060.HK), a subsidiary of Alibaba Group Holding Limited, and Macau Pass Group.

The renewed collaboration, between the Macau casino operator and the Chinese technology-powered entertainment company, is designed to enhance the cultural and entertainment landscape in Macau by organizing diverse events while supporting comprehensive publicity and ticketing services.

Building on cooperation since 2023, the partners plan to continue hosting a wide range of cultural activities, including concerts, award ceremonies, musicals, film screenings, theatrical performances, sports events, and exhibitions.

For the first time, this renewed alliance will extend beyond Macau, exploring cultural and entertainment projects throughout the Greater Bay Area.

Damai Entertainment, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, provides live-event services such as ticketing, content production, promotion, distribution, and onsite operations. Formerly known as Alibaba Pictures Group Ltd, it has expanded its international footprint with the digitalized performance management platform MAITIX.

Meanwhile, Macau Pass, acquired by AGTech Holdings Ltd in 2022, specializes in mobile payment solutions in Macau, primarily.

The initial partnership began in 2023 when Galaxy Entertainment’s subsidiary signed a three-year deal with AGTech Holdings, Beijing Damai Cultural Media Development Co Ltd, and Alibaba Pictures Group Ltd, scheduled until February 7, 2026. Since then, Galaxy has hosted shows featuring top Chinese performers and major variety programs.

Under the renewed deal, Damai Entertainment will advance collaboration on ticketing systems at Galaxy Macau and support Macau Pass in enhancing ticketing technology and infrastructure. Damai will continue providing live-event services, while Macau Pass will handle mobile payment processing.

Galaxy’s integrated resort houses several performance sites, including the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena at Galaxy Macau’s International Convention Center, the 850-seat G Box venue, and the 2,500-seat Broadway Theatre. In 2024, Galaxy held 460 shows and events across its property, and from March to June 2025, it staged over 30 performances by 20 artists.
