Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and the Macao University of Tourism (UTM) have co-organized a series of community tourism training programs aimed at strengthening frontline staff’s understanding of Macau’s cultural and tourism resources.
The initiative, titled “Experience Macao with GEG,” was launched for a second consecutive year and included an “Immersive Study Program” and thematic seminars on Macanese culture, heritage and cuisine. According to a statement from the gaming operator, 50 GEG team members completed the four-day immersive program, which combined classroom learning with guided tours of World Heritage sites, Taipa’s old town and the revitalized Lai Chi Vun Shipyards.
Participants, drawn from customer service, hotel, food and beverage and integrated resort operations, received training on the city’s historical landmarks, preservation efforts and cultural integration of Chinese and Western traditions.
Additional seminars held earlier this year reached about 400 frontline staff, focusing on Macau’s folk customs and Macanese gastronomy. GEG said the programs align with ongoing efforts to support community tourism development in Macau.
