Gov’t boosts global profile at UNESCO

The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) represented Macau at the XVI Annual Conference of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network held July 1-5 in Braga, Portugal. As a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy since 2017, Macau took the opportunity to enhance its involvement in the network and raise its international profile. MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes attended the conference’s plenary sessions and cluster meetings. The conference, brought together around 550 delegates from 250 member cities across 80 countries. It featured plenary sessions, high-level discussions, and cultural activities highlighting the network’s goals of creating more inclusive, creative and sustainable cities.
