Woman caught in alleged illegal casino exchange scheme

A 35-year-old woman from mainland China has been arrested on suspicion of conducting illegal currency exchange activities in local casinos. The Judiciary Police believe she has been operating across multiple casinos in Macau since April, earning an estimated RMB16,000. During a routine inspection in Cotai on June 10, officers saw her exchanging chips with a male gambler. She admitted to converting RMB18,000 into HKD20,000 in chips. Authorities seized HKD46,000 in chips, HKD10,000 in cash, and a mobile phone.
