Gov’t reviews stall allocation at Grand Prix to support local SMEs

The Sports Bureau said there are currently no set limits on the ratio of local and non-local sales stalls at the Macau Grand Prix, and the authority will continue monitoring and reviewing the allocation system. Last year’s 72nd Grand Prix saw 80% of stalls awarded to local vendors. Lawmaker Nick Lei raised concerns over delayed lottery results for some stalls; the bureau explained that the lottery began in October due to high demand and pledged to refine the process, optimize arrangements, and coordinate with vendors. Stall fees have remained unchanged in recent years to balance event quality with operating costs.
