Zhuhai port sees surge in holiday passenger flow and duty-free sales

Zhuhai Customs said passenger traffic at the Gongbei Port continued to rise from the third to the fifth day of the Lunar New Year (Feb. 19–21), reaching more than 970,000 in three days, or about 324,000 daily, above the earlier forecast of 308,000. Authorities have advanced smart clearance systems to handle the surge. During the holiday period, duty-free sales at the port also jumped significantly, with 150,000 items sold to 120,000 shoppers from Feb. 15–21. Duty-free revenue reached RMB42.68 million, up 32.53% year-on-year.
