The hotel sector recorded solid performance in 2025, with official figures showing higher occupancy rates and a modest increase in guest arrivals, despite a decline in inbound package tour visitors. According to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), the average occupancy rate of hotel guest rooms stood at 89.4% in 2025, up 3.1 percentage points year-on-year. The number of guests staying in hotel establishments rose by 1.0% to 14.56 million, while the total number of available rooms increased by 4.9% to about 45,000 across 147 hotels. Occupancy improved across all categories, with five-star hotels reaching 92.9%, four-star hotels 83.8% and three-star hotels 85.0%.
