Following the government’s official announcement of increased subsidy amounts, the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) will disburse the 2025 old-age and disability subsidies in mid-October, with a total allocation of approximately MOP1.64 billion to nearly 160,000 eligible recipients.
The disbursement comes after the government’s publication in the Official Gazette adjusting the subsidy amounts, effective immediately.
The old-age subsidy has been raised from MOP9,000 to MOP10,000 per person and will be distributed on October 16 to 139,359 eligible elderly residents who have passed the review.
Similarly, the disability subsidy will follow on October 17, with the regular disability subsidy now set at MOP10,000 for 13,648 recipients, while the special disability subsidy has increased to MOP20,000 for 5,752 recipients.
IAS emphasizes that beneficiaries residing outside Macau must complete their proof-of-life procedure by the end of August to ensure timely payment.
Those who miss this deadline may experience payment delays and will receive their allowances at the end of the month following their application.
All recipients are urged to promptly update any changes to personal information with IAS to ensure uninterrupted allowance disbursement.
